Pete Sharma Associates are delighted to announce the availability of four scholarships for teachers and teacher trainers at ELT-Consultants

 

The course

This online taught course runs from 10th April – 1st May 2016

 

Who is the course for?

The course is aimed at ELT teachers and teacher trainers who wish to learn about Blended Learning

 

Course Aims

To introduce participants to the concept of Blended Learning (BL) in the context of language learning

To compare a range of approaches to BL involving different materials and learning platforms

To encourage participants to explore the pedagogical rationale behind BL courses

To present a ‘framework’ to allow participants to create BL courses appropriate for their own teaching situation

 

Outcomes

By the end of this course, participants will be:

familiar with a number of definitions of the term Blended Learning

familiar with a number of approaches to the term Blended Learning

aware of the features of a range of common learning platforms

aware of a common range of digital material created for language learning

aware of what is involved in created their own digital exercises for language learning

able to plan a series of language lessons which take a blended approach to teaching

able to apply a ‘framework’ for creating BL courses appropriate for their own teaching situation

 

Course length: 20 hours

[4x1 hour webinars + approx. 4 hours online work / reading per week excl. assignment]

Participants will submit a short assignment in order to receive a Certificate of completion. To receive your certificate, you should complete 80% of the coursework, including the final assignment.

 

Webinar dates (subject to change):

Sunday 10 April, Sunday 17 April, Monday 28 April and Sunday 1 May. All webinars at 14.00 (GMT)

Webinars will be recorded, and can be viewed later by participants unable to attend live.

 

Technical requirements: Computer with headset / Internet access

Digital literacies: Use of Word processor

Participant profile: EFL Teachers / language teachers / native and non-native speakers
